Why a Health and Wellness Fair at the Sands Point Preserve?
Each year, we receive heartfelt testimonials from visitors who share how their time spent in nature on our beautiful Preserve has positively impacted their health and well-being. We’re proud that so many people from neighboring towns join the Preserve for the purpose of nurturing, protecting, and sustaining their health. As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, we’re excited to host our second Health and Wellness Fair. Last year, over 350 community members attended the inaugural fair and received valuable resources to support their personal health and wellness journeys.

The information you will deliver to the public will be in the form of conversation, hand-outs, brochures, business cards, signage, etc. The only hands-on work will be work that can be done or demonstrated in the chairs at your table in the public forum. Why Would I Want to Apply for a Table, and How Much does it Cost?
To spread the word of your great work and gain new clients!
There is no application fee. If the committee selects you as a participant, the fee for the table is $200. The Sands Point Preserve is a non-profit organization and we organize the fair as a free resource to the community (except for the $15 park entrance fee for non-members). Your table fee will go to cover advertising, signage, table rental, programs, security, etc.
I Share a Space with other Practitioners. Can We Share a Table and Pay One Fee?
Probably not. We ask that each practitioner pay the $200 table fee. If you have a question about this, please contact Linda at linda.nutter@sandspointpreserve.org.
Where Will the Health and Wellness Fair be Advertised?
-
- Signage at the Preserve
- An ad in the full-run edition of Schneps Media newspapers in Nassau County. (Formerly Anton Media News and Blank Slate Media)
- Press releases to local media
- The Preserve’s Facebook and Instagram pages
- Facebook Ads
- The Patch
- The Preserve’s 10,000+ plus mailing list
- A program handed to guests will include the name, type of work you do, website, social media handles, and contact information for each practitioner.
- Hopefully, participating practitioners will advertise on their own social media and help grow awareness for the fair.
What Will I Need to Bring?
The Preserve will provide each practitioner with a space in the exhibition hall, a table and four chairs. You will need to bring a tablecloth for the 6-foot table, signage describing who you are and what you’re offering, and any literature or giveaways that you will want people to take. (Again, please note that in accordance with Dept. of Health guidelines, you may not distribute anything that can be consumed. If you sell product at your practice, you may direct people to your site for purchase.)
Prior to the event, you will also need to provide information for marketing materials and your logo.
Can I Sell Product?
No.
How Will You Select Participants?
Our committee, which includes a somatic educator, will make decisions based on the following criteria:
-
- The completeness/professionalism of your application
- The uniqueness of your practice. We can’t, for example, have ten chiropractors or ten yoga teachers. We are trying to offer a range of health and wellness modalities.
- Ease of communication. As a non-profit with a small staff, we value partners with clear communication who will efficiently provide program information, logos, and table fee when asked.
When Should I Apply?
Now! Deadline is January 5, 2026.
